He gently pulled the hair from around her face so he could softly whisper into her ear. And really, this was was how it had all started in the first place with Patrick being new to Arlington. He joined the Arlington Young Democrats’ softball team.

When he walked in, the first things he noticed was Kelly, who was already a member of AYD. In his words, “she was so sparkly and had a beautiful smile.” After the first meeting of AYD, the group split into subcommittee break-out sessions. Patrick didn’t know why subcommittees were necessary, but he knew that if he had to be part of one, it was going to be the one that Kelly was going to.

Five months and a whole lot of flirting later … Patrick and Kelly went out of their first date!
