Some traditions are so unique and special that they are passed down from generation to generation. Petworth United Methodist Church has been in Katie’s family for over 100 years. The sun from the beautiful stained glass windows played across the faces of all those that watched during the ceremony as two people became one.

Well, we had the best time with Valerie and Ryan — we were so happy to be working with this shy, but very much in love couple. Valerie and Ryan were high school sweethearts, who took a break and then found each other again — well, that’s a story close to my heart, as my hubby and I are high school sweethearts. Being with them, I really got a sense that they were long time friends who were really at ease with each other.We always like things that are different and unique, so right away, we liked their sense of adventure in having their engagement images at the National Gallery of Art, which is just the kewlest place!! This place brought out our sense of adventure and encouraged us to try some dramatic shots with different lighting effects.

So it finally snowed — and what a perfect setting for some winter portraits! My little “Freckles” is growing up…;>} I think the time is right for a new wall portrait of Joriana, so off we went down to our new pond (big thanks to honey bunny for all the backhoe and dozer work to put it in and for adding the waterfall…;>})

Jeremy and Lynda were the coolest couple ever. From the gorgeous venue they had the day of their wedding, to the beautiful green dresses all of Lynda’s bridesmaids wore down the aisle. All things Parisian set the tone for Charles and Donna’s elegant wedding. From the hand-picked wines from France to the romantic sounds of Paris that floated through the air during the cocktail hour and reception, we loooooooved the theme of this wedding. Rosehill Manor in Leesburg, Virginia was the perfect venue — or at least in the mind of these two wedding photographers. For us, it was tres bien!
