Yes, we primarily photograph portraits in the Sterling, VA, Burke, VA areas. I personally love being a Photographer. Family photos are just so fun to take and preserve for those who cherish their families…but you should know….
WE WON! Our work is now featured on the front page of ISPWP!We have exciting news!
ISPWP — it’s an organization we are proud to be a member of! So imagine our surprise and honor to have one of our images featured on the home page — right across from the words “The Best Wedding Photographers in the World”!
The ISPWP has a monthly photo assignment given to the members. Entries are posted on the ISPWP Forum, and all members get to vote on the winner. That means the best photographers all over the world voted on all the entries — there is nothing like having your peers vote your work part of “the Best Photography in the world.”
The May assignment was “Surprise.” Congratulations to Mindy Belcher of Ever After Portraits for winning the May Photo of the Month.
Here’s our notes about the image:
“Carly and Jonathan were married at the Hartwood House, in Hartwood, Virginia. These childhood sweethearts had a lovely wedding filled with the love of family and friends. This image was taken at Carly and Jonathan’s wedding during the speeches. Carly’s father was giving the toast and said something that brought this look to the bride’s face – as you can surmise, she was surprised that he shared this bit of info during his toast.”
Thanks for Carly and Jonathan for not only being such a lovely couple to work with, but for allowing us to document your day with images like these!
We, I am a Studio Photographer – typically, that’s where we photograph. Not just in the Sterling, VA area though, but even places like Annandale, VA. We take all types of photos, but the type of photo I like the best is one that tells a story — that’s why we started a new service — THE PHOTOBOOTH AKA THE COUTH BOOTH!
Ever After Portraits would like to introduce a particularly cool addition to their services . . . THE COUTH BOOTH!
You’ve found the groom. You’ve got the wedding planned. The day has finally arrived. People are coming from all over to celebrate your happy day with you. This might be the only time you have all those loved ones together at the same place. Why not make it count! Capture the true personalities of your guests with the Couth Booth!
The Couth Booth only requires a 7×7 area of space at your reception. So while you’re off with the Mr. getting fabulous images made, your guests can loosen their ties and let down their hair and the Couth Booth will capture it all.
Book us within three days and we will say THANK YOU with our Photobooth — a value of $1000!
Ever After Portraits is a mother-daughter team who specialize in relationship photography — we love photographing the ones you love — children, family, baby and newborn portraits.
Isn’t this the sweetest little girl you EVER saw?
As a professional photographer who photographs in the Sterling, VA and Vienna area, we really love photographing families! Family portraits I feel is photography at it’s best. But newborn photographs are a close second — here’s a teaser of some sweet images I know you will love!
Stay tuned for more images of Samantha to come soon!
Portrait photography studios in the Sterling, Fair Oaks or general DC area are each unique and each one has an area they prefer to photograph at. We love taking photographs outside in our family portrait studios — our outdoor studio is perfect for families or couples who want relaxed and natural photographs.
Engagement images usually take place before the Wedding day. Ashley and Patrick chose to have their engagement photography done in the suburbs near Washington, D.C. in our fabulous Northern VA outdoor studio. We also do Weddings and Portraits in the Washington D.C. metro area.
So, I had a little bit of a harder time than usual picking out a song for Ashley and Patrick’s engagement montage. Now, yes, I could have easily used a boring love song that can possibly describe every couple on this planet, however, I wanted it to be really special and unique to them especially since I know how important music is to them.
When we first met with Ashley and Patrick, we hit it off right away. Not only were they the coolest couple, but we liked the same music! I know this may not seem like a very big deal but you try finding someone who knows bands from ‘The Used” to ‘The Maine’ all the way to ‘Mayday Parade’. And it’s even harder to find TWO people that love that kind of music. Suffice to say, we were in love with these two. We kept our fingers crossed hoping that Patrick and Ashley would choose us to photograph their wedding and ta-da, they did! I can’t even begin to say how excited we were!
The engagement session was awesome. The weather was perfect, and the images, if I may say so, turned out amazing! We couldn’t have done it without a laid back couple like Ashley and Patrick who were content to let us capture the essence of their love for each other. Isn’t their ease with each other shown in the love on their faces?
The song I chose for their engagement slideshow is: Your Song by Mayday Parade. It’s not a traditional love song but I thought it fit because I know that bonding over similar music choices was a big reason Ashley and Patrick fell in love with each other. This song tells the story of two lovers who can’t wait to one day be united forever. Poetic, right? Since the wedding day is fast approaching!
Now, that brings us to the present day. The engagement session is done. The guest album designed. The last thing we have to do is share our vision of what we saw when we documented their love story!
Ashley and Patrick, weI really, really hope you like not only the song but the images we were able to capture of you two just being yourselves (in love).
We can’t wait to photograph your wedding!!

Photography Studio Tysons Corner family portrait photography
Having a photography studio near Tysons Corner, which is in the Washington, DC metro area is wonderful! Not only because it is a very popular location for family portrait photography, but also because we get to photograph so many different things — whether it is the engagement, wedding and Day After Sessions of our wedding clients or those with families who come to Ever After Portraits. As part of our wedding photography collections, you not only hire two wedding photographers, who specialize in wedding photojournalism or capturing the emotion of the moment, you are hiring wedding photojournalist who LOVE to work in DC.
It was a little cold that day but the sun was shining and the sky was a glorious shade of blue. There were hardly any clouds in the sky. Mindy and I were not sure what to expect. We had met Kara before but had never met Ryan! By the end of the session, we were all laughing — it was so much fun! As we were going back through the images, one thing was apparent — Ryan and Kara are in love! L-O-V-E! The way they look into each other’s eyes, the way they laugh, the way they cuddle — are all unique and it was truly a joy to be able to capture that!
Kara is just as cute as a button as they say down south. She is also stunningly beautiful! I love her green eyes! Ryan is the perfect match for her — and they both looked very stylish in their white sweaters. Ryan’s matching his ice blue eyes. Can you tell we have a thing for eyes? Lol! So we must say with such gorgeous subjects, we really love the way the images turned out!
Ryan and Kara . . . we cannot WAIT to photograph your wedding! We know it’s going to be beautiful. But until then, we hope you enjoy these images.

He whispered softly in her ear. Her smile lit up the room as she giggled quietly at John’s joke. She looked up at him and he stared down into her big brown eyes. The shared moment between the two could only spell one thing…love.
Do you think there’s only one perfect person out there for each of us? I don’t have the answer but after John and Sara’s engagement session, I think I might have an idea.
It’s so interesting to see how a couple translates to images. As we were looking over the images from their shoot, what we noticed first was Sara’s sparkling smile. Sara practically glowed every time John looked at her and you can tell in every photograph. John seemed to light up every time Sara looked at him. It was very plain to see that what Sara and John have is something special. Something different. Something that many people search for their entire lives. Something that Sara and John have found.
So IS there a perfect person for everyone? I’m not gonna give the answer away . . . but check out Sara and John’s Sneak Peek/Montage Engagement Slideshow to see for yourself.
